Nintendo Switch releases a new version

- Replacing the original one in the stores

If you are thinking about getting a Nintendo Switch, then you might want to wait a while. They are replacing the standard editions in the stores with a upgraded version. That is happening soon. From what I hear, it is at the end of August.

What does this new edition bring to the table?

- Why should you wait with buying a Nintendo Switch console?

The reason is simple. You are buying a handheld console to play while not being connected to a power source. That means that the battery life will be important. The battery in this upgraded version is a lot better. I haven't played the Switch myself but by looking at the numbers, it is clearly an upgrade.

The original version of the Switch has somewhere around 2.5-6.5 hours whereas the new version is said to have 4.5-9 hours of battery time.

The price won't differ! That is the key thing here. This new version won't cost you more than you would spend on a Nintendo Switch in the stores today. That means that it is worth waiting for the end of August. You will get a more powerful console for the same money.

And if you are really interested in what Nintendo brings, then you should take a look at the Nintendo Switch Lite that is coming soon as well. Judging from what I can tell by looking at Nintendo.com, this is pretty much the handheld part of the Nintendo Switch. You will be able to play all the games that allow handheld play on the Nintendo Switch.

The controllers are attached to the device and it looks like Nintendo is doing what they have done before. Creating a completely handheld console.
